Calibrate handheld refractometers correctly
A handheld refractometer is an indispensable measurement device when precise values are required for water, sugar or salt content. Whether in food control, beverage production, beekeeping or in the laboratory – correct calibration is the basis for precise analyses and high measurement quality.
Regular calibration: Temperature changes, wear and tear or environmental influences can affect the accuracy of a handheld refractometer. Regular calibration detects such deviations at an early stage and ensures that the device continues to work precisely. A well-calibrated refractometer provides consistent results and prevents measurement errors that can be caused by external factors.

HRB92-T Use in honey production & Baumé scale
This KRÜSS Optronic handheld refractometer is a quality assurance device for measuring the water content in honey. It also has a Baumé scale for use by winegrowers in winemaking.
- Standard tool for beekeepers to comply with the Honey Ordinance
- Prevents fermentation due to excessive water content
- Honeys with a water content between 15 % and 18 % crystallize optimally
- Ensures the shelf life of the honey
- Baumé scale (°Bé): Measure sugar content in grape must, determine ripeness of grapes and potential alcohol content of finished wine.
