Digital refractometer DR301-95 – Precise measurements for laboratory, industry & on the go
The DR301-95 is both a high-quality mobile refractometer and a simple digital desktop device. In addition to the refractive index and sugar content, it can also measure the salt content (%) (NaCl or salinity). On request, the DR301-95 can be equipped with two further freely selectable scales (e.g. Oechsle, Baumé). Up to 5 measuring scales are possible in one refractometer.
It has a menu control that can be used to switch on automatic temperature compensation – against sucrose – for each scale. An alarm option can be set up for monitoring limit values in production processes.
The digital refractometer DR301-95 becomes a stationary laboratory refractometer with the supplied mains adaptor. For mobile use, it can be operated flexibly with a 9 V block battery. Typical areas of application are the food and beverage industry, pharmacies, laboratories, testing offices as well as research and teaching.
Thanks to the additional salt content scale (%), the device is also ideal for measuring salinity. In food production, it is used to analyze the sodium chloride content in brines, canned vegetables, soups and fruit juices.
.
Basic functions
- Measurement range: nD 1.3330-1.5318 and 0-95%Brix
- High measurement accuracy: nD ±0.00015 and ±0.1 %Brix
- Can also be used to determine the salt content (%)
- Reproducible measurements that are not dependent on the user’s interpretation.
- Optionally activatable automatic temperature compensation for all scales
- Quick filling and cleaning
- With high-quality, fully chrome-plated measuring trough
- Robust housing and low device weight
- Operation possible with Mains adaptor or battery
Application Digital refractometers
The DR301-95 digital refractometer enables measurements with up to five different scales and requires only a minimum sample volume. Thanks to its wide measurement range of nD 1.3330-1.5318 and 0-95 % Brix, it is ideal for a wide variety of samples and applications.
Application example food industry
- Valid norms/standards: AOAC, OIML, ASTM, GLP, ICUMSA
- Application: Quality and purity control of raw materials and end products (including convenience products, canned vegetables, soups, fruit juices and brines) also ideal for measuring the salt content (%) on the production line.
- Rapid measurement of alcohol content and determination of sugar concentration (starch hydrolysis products, seasoning sauces)
- Advantage: Portable, handy, light, easy to clean
Application example hospitals and pharmacies
- Valid norms/standards: Pharmacopoeias (BP,JP, Ph. Eur.), GLP
- Application: Outgoing goods inspection or analysis of raw materials. Control of drugs according to Pharmacopoeia (infusion solutions, blood serums, pills, pastes, dialysis preparations) or analysis of body secretions
- Advantage: High reliability, the optional 5 scales can be read digitally.
- The automatic temperature compensation for sucrose can be switched on
